Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") carefully before using the DropWave web application operated by DropWave ("us", "we", or "our") at dropwave.app and associated domains.
1. Description of Service
DropWave provides a web-based, zero-installation peer-to-peer file transfer utility. The service uses WebRTC technology to establish direct peer connections between devices connected on the same local network (LAN / Wi-Fi) or paired via shared room identifiers. The service enables users to transfer files, photos, videos, directories, and text snippets directly between web browsers without storing them on intermediary cloud servers.
2. Permitted Use & User Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this website. By using DropWave, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use DropWave only for lawful purposes. You agree NOT to use the service to:
- Transfer or transmit any content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, invasive of privacy, infringing of intellectual property rights, or otherwise harmful;
- Transmit malware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or any malicious code designed to compromise device integrity;
- Transmit copyrighted materials, proprietary intellectual property, or confidential trade secrets without appropriate authorization or licenses;
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or burden the signaling servers or infrastructure supporting DropWave;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization.
4. Zero-Server Architecture & User Responsibility
Because DropWave transfers files directly between user browsers:
- We do not monitor, moderate, or filter content: We have no visibility into the files transmitted between peers.
- Sender & Recipient Responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to transfer any content and that you trust the recipient peer before confirming a transfer.
- Consent Dialogs: DropWave requires mutual consent before file transfers commence. Recipients must inspect the file name, type, and size before accepting incoming transfers.
5. Intellectual Property Rights
All software, visual design, user interfaces, branding, logos, trademarks, and code comprising DropWave are the exclusive property of DropWave and its licensors. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the service for personal and business peer-to-peer transfers.
6. Advertisements & Third-Party Content
DropWave may display third-party advertisements (such as Google AdSense) and links to external websites. We do not endorse or assume responsibility for any third-party products, services, or websites. Interactions or transactions with advertisers found on DropWave are solely between you and the respective advertiser.
